It was a dark and frosty morning...
Before going to bed last night I double checked my gear making sure my laptop, phone, and camera were fully charged. I also packed my bag with various AC adapters, writing implements, and my wet weather gear. I *think* I'm ready for a day of on location blogging.
According to the NOAA forecast the temperature is going to hover in the mid-20s throughout the day with a 60% chance of snow in the afternoon. It'll be interesting to see if this impacts the crowds here in Chicago.
Unlike many of the other Black Friday Watch correspondents I'll be commuting from one location to another via bicycle. Given the crowds and traffic this makes a little more sense than relying on buses or cabs today. Winter cycling is actually quite popular here in Chicago with numerous winter riding groups.
Today being the last Friday of the month means that riders from all over the city will be gathering at the Daley Plaza for the monthly Critical Mass ride - so it'll be nice to stop by and see how many turned out for what may be a snowy and sloppy ride.
Okay - one more sip of coffee and I'm off. My next post will be from Michigan Avenue.
