Relaxing at a Starbucks
I’m sitting at a Starbucks now, and striking up some conversation with other shoppers. Two gals next to me started the day at Toys’R’Us, getting there at 7:30am. Their target item was RoboRaptor, a $120 wireless monster. They succeeded in getting it, for the 10 year old boy in the family.

They’re saying it’s a huge bonding day for women. While waiting in line they will hear other conversations, and where other deals are. “You found that Winnie the Pooh for $4? Where on Earth?” To ease their tension, they have their pedicure appt. set for 3pm today. Smart move.
They are telling me of people ramming carts into each other at Target, but overall, they have not experienced any rudeness.
I asked which were the hot items on her 10 year old’s list. Final Fantasy 4 was a must have, for GameBoy Advanced. Need For Speed – Most Wanted was another. Today’s shopping is dedicated for her 3 kids.
They won’t step foot in a WalMart, way too uncivilized, with all those pallets in the aisle ways. I agree with them.
There’s no question that at this particular Starbucks I’m surrounded by women. They’re mostly sporting their Seattle tans – WHITE. Not complaining.
I’m taking a bit of time to check out the other blogs. I see a lot of sunny places. We’re already starting to forget what the sun looks like here in Seattle. Thanksgiving morning started out ok, but then the rains came by 2pm, and haven’t let up. I see that the shoppers in Berkeley don’t care for the rain. If Seattleites let the rains stop us, nothing would ever get done. I’ve mowed my lawn in the light rain.
Time to leave suburbia and head to Seattle proper.
